SUNA V2 Firmware 2.5.1

Satlantic would like to announce a revision to our SUNA V2 Firmware, version 2.5.1

This firmware revision fixes some unexpected complications with our recent release of firmware version 2.5.0. The bugs manifest when upgrading from a firmware before revisions 2.4.0 or 2.5.0.

We strongly recommend all users update to this firmware revision at your earliest convenience. It is recommended that users also install SUNACom 3.0.10. Firmware can be updated via SUNACom, with instructions for doing so being in section 9 “Firmware Upgrade” of the SUNA V2 User’s manual or the “Upload Firmware” section of the SUNACom manual. If preferred, a terminal program may also be used (instructions in SUNA V2 Rev E manual).

Changes:

- Rebuilding the lamp time from the lamp use file now rejects invalid entries. Prior, invalid entries
would generate incorrect lamp time values. Invalid entries are rare, affecting very few sensors.

- Initializes the wiper minimum interval at zero when upgrading from a firmware version prior to rev. 2.4.0, which did not have a wiper minimum interval implemented. This initialization ensures that a firmware upgrade will not change the sensor behavior.

Caution: SUNA cannot operate without a valid firmware. When upgrading the firmware, the existing firmware is erased, and the new firmware is written to memory. If the write process is interrupted, for example by a loss of power, SUNA may enter a non-responsive state. In case of a problem, contact Satlantic for support.
